This project recreates a small section of ancient Rome as a 3D environment which the player(student)
can explore. The inspiration for this project was the educational game, Discover Babylon, which I integrated into a
6th grade unit on Mesopotamia (thank you 6th grade teachers!). While highly polished, Discover Babylon suffered
from several design issues which hampered its use as an educational tool. This project, when complete, should
offer smoother classroom integration while being just as educational.

On the left is a preliminary screen shot showing the Roman Forum around 200 AD. Objects shown include the Basilica Julia, the Temple of Vespasian, the Temple of Concord, the Arch of Septimius Severus, and the Senate House. In addition to historic sites, the program incorporates characters with whom the player can interact.
